IMAGE / VECTOR STUDIO

Image to SVG

Turn logos, icons and illustrations into scalable vector paths. Choose your colors, refine the edges, then download SVG.

Free · No sign-up · Files stay in your browser

1. Choose an image

One static JPG, PNG or WebP. Up to 10 MB, 64 megapixels and 16,000 px per edge. Large originals are automatically reduced for tracing. 1 MB = 1,000,000 bytes.

Remove background, keep inside colors

Make the background transparent while keeping white faces and clothing. Repair open outlines by hand.

Save the original as SVG

Keep the original image and transparency inside an SVG, without tracing. Vector settings and color edits do not apply.

Enlargement is limited by the original resolution. This contains an image, not editable vector paths, and may be a larger file.

2. Choose a starting point

Shading uses more solid-color steps. It does not recreate continuous gradients.

Give small, distinct colors more weight. For a specific color, pick it from the original below.

Colors to preserve · Up to 4

Cubic curves keep round edges smooth and preserve deliberate corners. Raise smoothing to reduce tiny edge ripples. Fine detail is selected for small faces and lettering.

Reduce thin stray colors along JPEG or blurred edges using nearby colors. Generate the SVG again after changing this setting. Lower or turn off cleanup if small color details disappear.

Smooth low-contrast grain before tracing while protecting high-contrast outlines. Stronger reduction can simplify fine texture.

If tracing is too complex, retry up to twice with less texture, fewer colors and lower working detail. Adjustments are shown with the result. Total processing is capped at 85 seconds (60 on smaller devices).

Fine-tune detail

Detail limits the longest tracing edge; the device pixel budget can reduce it. Small colored specks merge into neighboring colors; dark details stay. Single-color mode omits short contours. Set specks to 0 to keep them.

Add an image to get started.

3. Compare & save

Zoom both views to check the edges. The checkerboard is a preview background; it is not saved.

Double-click to zoom. Ctrl/⌘ + wheel zooms at the pointer; drag to pan when enlarged. Both views stay aligned. On touch screens, zoom in first, then drag or pinch.

The vector result contains editable paths, not an embedded photo. Text becomes shapes, not editable text. SVG can be larger than the original.

How to use it

  1. Choose a clear logo, icon or illustration. A larger, clean source usually gives better edges.
  2. Pick a preset, then adjust colors and smoothing. Create SVG again after changing a setting.
  3. Zoom, edit individual colors and save the full result or a separate color as SVG. Your original file is unchanged.

What to expect

Best for flat colors and clear shapes. Photos, gradients, tiny lettering and blurry edges are simplified. This is not a pixel-perfect reconstruction or a laser-cutting file validator.

Transparent regions and enclosed holes are supported. Soft transparency becomes opaque or transparent at 50% alpha. Tracing is capped at 0.9 megapixels (0.45 on smaller devices), 20,000 paths and 8 MB SVG. Runs stop after 45 seconds (30 on smaller devices).

The vector result contains editable paths, not an embedded photo. Text becomes shapes, not editable text. SVG can be larger than the original.

Remove background, keep inside colors

Start with automatic selection for solid backgrounds. Use Outline or Keep when large gaps let the selection leak inside.

After changing these settings, run Auto-select again. Undo restores previous refinements.

100%

Checkerboard means transparent. Faint red marks areas to erase and is not saved.
